There is a truism amongst car designers that you absolutely cannot put more than 220 bhp through the front wheels of a front wheel drive car before waves of torquesteer carry you off into the scenery. This nugget of information comes from the very worthy engineers at SAAB who, lets face it, know a thing or two about front wheel drive cars.

I am sure the engineers at Graham Goode are happy to play second fiddle to the Swedes when it comes to trendy flat pack furniture or 1970s pop super groups, but they clearly don’t subscribe to the Swede’s 220 bhp limit. And do you know what? They’re right. The guys at Graham Goode have breathed their magic on the Focus ST to produce 300 bhp weapon on a par with the better Imprezas & Evos.. Ultimately not quite as quick cross country as the Japanese 4wd homologation specials, but for £2500 on top of the price of a new or used ST it is a veritable bargain!

Focus ST 300 Conversion

As you might expect from the , this conversion takes the already impressive Focus ST 2.5 turbo from 220bhp to a heady 300bhp (& 360NM of torque)

GGF512 - A cold air induction system  - £350 +VAT

A free flowing K + N air filter housed in a purpose manufactured spun aluminium housing with high quality silicone hoses.

GGF519 - Free Flowing Exhaust and Sport Catalyst - £550 +VAT

The original manifolds and turbocharger are retained.  A high flow non restrictive down pipe and sports catalyst in stainless steel replace the originals.

3” tubing in stainless steel with twin 4” tailpipes which house integral noise damping.

GGF518 - Bluefin Engine Mapping - £510 +VAT

A Bluefin which includes the superchips upgrade tune for a standard ST (225 to 256 bhp) and the Graham Goode developed ST 300 tune to be used in conjunction with the mechanical upgrades.

GGF510 - Mongoose 3” free flow cat back exhaust to replace GGF523.  Larger 4½ tailpipes and slightly noisier.  No power increase over. Add £45 + VAT to kit price.

GGF537 - Pro-Alloy Intercooler.  Similar to GGF527 but a cosmetically better finish.  No power increase over GGF527.  Add £40 + VAT to kit price.
