About us
Kernahan of Witney is a privately owned, second generation family run business and in 2008 we celebrated our 50th year. In 1958 Owen Kernahan started with a petrol forecourt and selling used cars. In 1965 we secured the Wolseley franchise which evolved through the years into BMC, British Leyland, Rover Group & finally into MG Rover.
Following the demise of MG Rover we switched to Ford and as a Ford franchised dealer, we offer car sales, service and parts for the Ford range of vehicles. We continue to specialise in the service and repair of all MG and Rover vehicles and offer full parts backup.
You don't stay in the motor business this long without a bit of petrol running through your veins, which is why we also service and repair Caterham sports cars. There is some commercial and engineering logic here, as most Caterhams are powered by MG or Ford engines..... but the truth is we just like them!
Motoring has certainly changed over the last 50 years and our business has changed with it. We may have the largest Ford showroom in Oxfordshire but we still pride ourselves on delivering knowledgeable friendly service and, lets face it...cracking good deals!
